Google is bringing support for the passkey which can be synced via Google Password Manager. The developers can use WebAuthn API for websites to authenticate end-users on Chrome Browser. The API can be replicated on other supported platforms too.
The service is available via the Google Play Services Beta for use on Chrome Canary. The stable feature will roll out by the end of this year. The support for a passkey on Native Android apps is the next step and will work on the apps using the same domain, and vice versa.
Interestingly, the API would easily fetch the passkey for the website if you using the same account on a nearby device.
