Must see: Top Features of Android 12

Earlier this year, Android 13’s codename was revealed as “Tiramisu,” which by the way, is a traditional Italian espresso-flavored cake. Now, we have some pre-released features that will probably make way to the stable phase as well. With that being said, let’s take a look at them.

Android 13 leaked features

  • Per-app language options

This feature of Android 13 is codenamed as “Panlingual” by Google. The per-app language settings will allow multilingual users to set different languages for different apps that too, without having to change the system language.

  • Notifications runtime permissions

Android 13 could allow giving runtime permissions to app notifications. That means notifications can become an optional feature that will be adjustable via the Settings app. We can assume that the feature will work similarly to camera and location services management. However, it is not sure if every app will have notifications disabled by default. It will help users reduce notification spamming though.

  • New UI lock screen clock

In Android 12, the clock in the lock screen switches from a double-line layout to a single-line whenever there’s a new notification. Android 13 intends to tweak this feature further by adding a new toggle for disabling this lock screen animation. With this, you can choose to keep a double-line layout always.

  • The Android Resource Economy (TARE)

The Android Resource Economy or TARE will be a new energy management feature for apps by Google. Android 13 will impose task limits on apps that use a new system which can affect battery levels and various other parameters. This system emulates a virtual economy that generates apps based on the device’s battery level and other factors. This is called Android Resource Credits.
