The next-generation flagship by Xiaomi, Mi 12 series has been in the leaks for months now. Finally, the company has officially announced its launch on December 28 in the Chinese market. The series will consist of three smartphones— Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro.

The Xiaomi 12 series have successfully passed through multiple certifications, confirming the key specifications of the devices. Additionally, the co-founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun also mentioned that we will see the next-gen customized skin, MIUI 13 based on Android 12Â alongside the Xiaomi 12 series.
Talking about the official specifications announced by the company, Xiaomi 12 will equip Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor under the hood. Whereas, the MI 12X will be the cheaper model drawing power from Snapdragon 870 SoC.
As per the other leaks, the lineup will flaunt a curved display with a punch-hole cutout at the center. The panel is tipped to offer a 2K screen and a 120Hz refresh rate in a slimmer body. Moreover, in the optics section, the Mi 12 is likely to offer a 50MP triple rear camera. Further, the Mi 12 will come with 67W fast charging support, while the Pro variant will support 120W fast charging.
To mention, the Xiaomi 12 series could also launch in India alongside the Redmi Note 11 Pro & Note 11 Pro+ smartphones. In addition, the company is also expected to extend the series further with Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 12 Lite Zoom, and the Xiaomi 12 Lite. These devices will not launch on December 28 though.
