Google unveiled their Android 12 today in I/O 2021 Keynote. Just after that, all the major smartphone brands announced it for their flagship devices. OnePlus, Realme, OPPO, Vivo, and Xiaomi were among the first brands to announce the Android 12 beta for their devices. Soon after the announcement, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro users started installing the Android 12 beta build on their units. However, a lot of users reported that their device is bricked after installing the Android 12 beta build. In response to these reports, OnePlus has temporarily removed the download links for the beta build.

OnePlus staff member said, “I’ve temporarily removed the download links based on the feedback from users in this thread. I’m sharing the feedback with the software team so they can look into it in the morning at HQ”.
Not only the OnePlus staff member but the users who have tried the Android 12 beta themselves also warned users about the condition via social platforms. The problem exists not only for OnePlus but other devices also.
According to Android Police, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro users who didn’t unlock their bootloader before installing the beta will not get past the setup process. However, they can fix it. They can use EDL restore to unbrick their devices. By using this they can restore their smartphone with a factory image using a Qualcomm chipset level flash.
