Samsung started rolling out May 2020 Security patch update for the Samsung Galaxy A50s and unlocked Galaxy S9/S9+ (US). The new updates are gradually rolling out to their respective smartphones. Taking about the features, the Galaxy A50s update comes with new extra features. Whereas, the company has not added any new features to unlocked Galaxy S9/S9+ in this update.

Unlocked Galaxy S9/S9+ US Security patch
Taking about the Unlocked Galaxy S9 series update first, its almost third year of getting monthly security patches from the release date. The update comes with May 2020 security patch, bug fixes, and fixes for all the prominent security loopholes. There were no new features added to the device via this update.
The update is currently live in the US and many users also started getting it. As the update is rolling out in batches, a set of random users will start getting the update now, and after the successful verification of the update, all the users will start receiving it.
Samsung Galaxy A50s May 2020 security update
Coming to the Galaxy A50s update, it brings screen recording feature, improvement in fingerprint recognition, flash while capturing photos through a 48-MP rear camera, fixes for all the prominent security loopholes, and few bug fixes. As the old reported bugs are fixed & new features were added, we will see a more stable and improved smartphone.
The update is rolling out in India and rolling out in staged manners, which means that a set of random users will start getting the update now. After the successful verification of the update, all the users will start receiving it. The May 2020 security patch comes with an A507FNXXU4BTD3 firmware version.
Galaxy A50s specifications
Galaxy A50s was launched last year with a 6.4-inch display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. It is available in three variants – 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage, 4 GB RAM with 128 GB storage, and 6 GB RAM with 128 GB storage. Coming to the cameras, there’s a Triple-camera setup on the rear side that includes a 48-MP primary + 8-MP ultra-wide lens + 5MP depth sensor. On the front, it hosts a 32-MP camera for selfies and video calling.
