Xiaomi has officially announced the launch date for Mi 10 series, which is set for February 13. Due to the novel coronavirus outbreak in China, the launch event will be online only. Additionally, later this month on February 23rd, the company will be even hosting a global launch event in Barcelona ahead of MWC 2020.
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi will be announcing its 2020 flagship devices, the Mi 10 series consisting of standard Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro next Thursday. Although the series is named Mi 10, it will be the company’s ninth flagship smartphone as it skipped the number 7 in 2018. Apart from announcing its launch date, the brand has also revealed some of the specifications. But anyways, most of them have already leaked days ago.
Having said that, the official teasers by Xiaomi have as far as confirmed WiFi 6, UFS 3.0 storage, and LPDDR 5 RAM. Also, the company’s CEO Lei Jun has confirmed that the base variant will start with 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM configuration and therefore it is guaranteed that all the variants will include LPDDR5 RAM module. Moreover, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC paired with Snapdragon X55 modem for 5G connectivity as revealed by the company at Qualcomm Snapdragon Summit held at Hawaii in December 2019.

The company has even teased the presence of a 108 MP primary with OIS, which according to leaks, will be paired with a 20MP sensor with 117-degree ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP telephoto unit with support for 50x zoom as well as OIS, and an unknown macro shooter. Other leaked specs of the Mi 10 series include a 6.57-inches AMOLED display with support for 90Hz refresh rate, in-screen fingerprint sensor, punch-hole for the front camera, 4,800 mAh battery, and support for 48W / 66W fast charging for the standard and Pro variants respectively.
Anyways, we will know more about the device, including the price and availability when it will be announced on February 13 next week.
