Android 10 Update for LG G8 ThinQ Unlocked goes live in the US

LG is not known for updating its smartphones to the latest version of Android faster. However, they do update the eligible devices as promised later than never. And that is why the LG G8 ThinQ (Unlocked version) announced in February 2019 is receiving its Android 10 update exactly after a year. However, do note the phone was made available two months later in April.

Recently, LG announced Android 10 update eligible devices and update timeline although the same has been started rolling out to some of its devices. To be clear, the Verizon and Sprint editions of the LG G8 ThinQ have already received the Android 10 update earlier in January. But the unlocked version has just started receiving the update now, which is not bad in any means as the users are at least getting to experience the latest version of the Android operating system in spite of lower sales of the device.

Talking about the update, it comes with build number V20a and weighs about 1.9 GB in size. Surprisingly, though it is a major update, the changelog only mentions ‘Android OS Upgrade’ and nothing else. Anyways, if you have the unlocked version of LG G8 ThinQ, then head over to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Updates -> Check for update and tap on ‘Download Now’ if your device has received it. Make sure to connect to a stable WiFi connection beforehand to avoid any data charges.
