The two Sony smartphone Xperia XA1 and XA1 Ultra. Both launched back in February wore a 5 and 6 inched display respectively catering similar features. Now, Sony is again with a new XA1 series device to fit into the middle of the above two devices. Today, Sony has officially announced a ‘Plus sized’ variant of the XA1, Sony Xperia XA1 Plus.
The Sony XA1 Plus in all most all aspects is identical to the Sony XA1, expect the 5.5 inch display instead of the 5 inch on Sony XA1. In addition, Sony has upgraded the resolution to FHD and a much improved battery in XA1 Plus. Also, flaunts a front-mounted Fingerprint Sensor in certain markets.
Boarding the same Mediatek MT6757 Helio P20 SoC to that of early launched XA1 devices. XA1 Plus is metal finished on sides and possess a plastic back cover, approving its mid-range nature. Its camera is also directly inherited from the former XA1’s. It consists of a 23MP, f/2.4 on the back with hybrid autofocus, and an 8MP selfie cam.
Connectivity options include: NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, with aptX support, a USB Type-C port, VoLTE, Cat.4 or Cat.6 LTE
Battery capacity, is where the XA1 Plus outshines the smaller XA1 as well as the mammoth XA1 Ultra. XA1 Plus is powered by a 3,430 mAh. The Qnovo adaptive charging and Pump Express+ 2.0 quick charging support is an icing on the cake.
The XA1 Plus is expected to hit the market in October and devices varies region to region. Most markets will get 4GB of RAM, except for South America and the US, which will get the 3GB model.
