There was much fuss about the series of tablets that Samsung recently launched, particularly due to them boasting of super-AMOLED displays. And though we haven’t gotten our hands on one of them yet, we can tell you the devices have amazing displays. Thanks to DisplayMate, we even have some detailed photos to prove our point.
Guys over at DisplayMate are in awe of the super-AMOLEDs used on both the Samsung Tab S 8.4 and the Tab S 8.5. According to them, these displays are the best displays ever used in any tablet.
These tablets are the first ones to use the super-AMOLED displays after the Tab 7.7, which was launched way back in 2011. And judging from what the people’s reviews are about the device, these tablets have turned out to be worth the wait. The tablets displays have judges as the “best displays ever” not only in the tablets but in smartphones as well, pushing Amazon’s Kindle Fire HDX to second spot and Apple iPad Air to third. The super-AMOLED display screens topped in terms of widest viewing angle, smallest variation in brightness when viewed from different angles, screen reflectance and the highest color accuracy. The only field where the AMOLED displays failed to top was brightness. Nokia Lumia 2520 beat the Tab S’s display in terms to brightness, bringing the brightness upto 684 nits while the tabs could only manage 546.
